Excellent opportunity to join the Maritime team of a leading multinational consultancy, with around 3000 employees. This role would be ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with a team of industry specialists whilst being home based. Our client has a keen focus on smart and green port development with current projects in Scotland, Nigeria and the Maldives.
Duties include:
- Designing and analysing ports and maritime structures.
- Technical and feasibility studies.
- Site inspections, surveying and supervision through the construction phase.
- Produce deliverables including calculations, reporting and drawings.
- Prepare contract documents, specifications and bills of quantities.
- Design management & risk assessment.
- Project and package management.
- Actively participate in your professional development towards chartered status (if not already).
- Communicate and collaborate with colleagues in the nationally and internationally.
- Assist with winning work and tender activities e.g. proposals.
- Working in line with company procedures.
Qualifications and experience:
- A degree in civil or structural engineering.
- Near-Chartered status preferred with ICE or IStructE.
- Previous experience in maritime engineering.
- Knowledge of digitisation and green port principles would be beneficial.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Able to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Proactive and flexible approach to problem-solving.
- Competent in the use of structural analysis software such as LUSAS, Robot, etc.
- Knowledge in software and IT skills such as Microsoft Office, coding, AutoCAD & BIM would be preferred.
- Understanding of the CDM (2015) Regulations.
- Willingness to travel to site locations either in Scotland or overseas.
