Senior / Principal Structural Engineer

Our client is a leading global consultancy who are specialists at delivering high end projects across educations, industrial, healthcare and transport sectors. They are currently looking for a Senior or Principal  Structural Engineer to join a very established, experienced and successful team in Belfast.

This would be a great opportunity for either someone already working as a Principal or someone currently in a Senior role who feels they are ready to progress to Principal in the near future.  

Our client offers a complete design and consultancy service, developing solutions from concept through to detailed design with recent projects including Victoria Hospital, Ballycastle Shared Education Campus, Belfast International Airport Extension and Casement Park Stadium.

Main Duties:

• Design of building structures using Eurocodes and a variety of    materials including steel, concrete, masonry, and timber;
• Ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Prepare structural designs, progress reports and specifications;
• Coordinate the structural design with other disciplines using BIM tools;
• Offer a consultative approach to clients to deliver the best possible solutions to their requirements.
• Day to day management and supervision of engineers and technicians;
• Prepare tender documents;
• Liaise with external stakeholders to ensure client satisfaction as well as identify new business opportunities wit both existing and new clients.
• Maximise the profitability of projects, monitor against budget,      anticipate potential problems and offer solutions in line with client expectations.

Qualifications:

• BEng or MEng in Civil or Structural engineering;
• Chartered with either ICE or MIstructE.
• Experience working as a structural engineer on multi-disciplinary design projects within building structures;
• Knowledge and understanding of Eurocodes;
• Proficient in the use of structural design software packages;
