Senior Civil Drainage Technician

Our client has over 35 years civil/structural consultancy design experience and has quickly grown to over 100 employees across 5 offices throughout Scotland.

They are currently looking for a Senior Civil Technician with drainage experience. 

General Requirements:

• HNC or HND in Civil Engineering or similar field.
• Relevant engineering and drafting experience.
• Sound knowledge and considerable experience in the use of AutoCad, Civil 3D and Microdrainage.

Principal Duties:

• Managing and producing technical documents including drawings, models, and earthwork quantities.
• Engaging with clients, sub-consultants, and other relevant stakeholders.
• Supporting the team with project delivery.
• Attending site when required and responding to site queries.

General Duties:

• Strong technical knowledge, including use of industry standard road and/or drainage design software and sound knowledge of current design standards.
• Road Design to 'National Road Development Guide', and Local Authority Standards.
• Obtain appropriate Technical Approvals  including RCC and S56.
• Civil 3D - Geometric design (Horizontal and Vertical Alignments).
• Knowledge of and ability to deliver highway drainage principles (layout, parameters, etc.), surface water and foul drainage designs.
• Obtain statutory approvals by liaising with Scottish Water and SEPA.
• Proficient in the use of AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Experience in Microdrainage would be beneficial
• Knowledge of 'Design Manual for Roads and Bridges' (DMRB).
• Ability to work as part of a team of experienced design professionals.
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
